Yesterday, the crew spent most of the day digging holes for the fines. They were about 10″ deep, and 10″ wide (my shoe size is 10). The CRV guys were careful to make sure that there weren’t rocks directly below where the holes were, because if a large rock is there, the roots can grow back upwards (called ‘J-Rooting’).
Today was the day that the vines went in! The plastic grow tubes are there to prevent frost and animals from damaging the plants while they are so young and fragile.
And the view from the upstairs balcony is looking really cool. Can’t wait for the canopy to be full!
